Victoria Beckham can buy anything she wants - and usually does. So how does the Queen of Conspicuous Consumption choose her designer clothes?

“Obviously you’re paying for quality. And a lot of the time you’re paying for the genius that actually created the outfit,” the wife of soccer star David Beckham said at last week’s Oscar de la Renta fashion show. “But for me, it’s all about shape and simplicity. Every season there are the key dresses that everybody wants. But sometimes I prefer to wear something completely different.”
