On Wednesday night, David Beckham’s first MLS season with the LA Galaxy came to an early end. After a tackle with a player on Pachuca, Becks sprained his right medial ligament in his knee. This means that after playing only 310 minutes in six games at a guaranteed salary of $6.5 million per year, he will not be able to play in any more games for Galaxy in the 2007 MLS season, yet still make bank. He will also miss all of England’s Euro 2008 qualifiers. The estimated recovery time is about 6 weeks, pretty much the length of the rest of the MLS season with the exception of 3 games. All in all for the true Galaxy supporters, this injury came at the right time. His ankle needed 3-4 weeks to properly heal, he won’t get another random injury in Euro 2008 qualifiers, his knee sprain is fully recoverable, and he will be 100% healthy for next season when Galaxy can get there upper-management sorted out. Its a shame he won’t play for England in the Euro qualifiers but he still has the actual Euro 2008 tourny next summer. Everyone knows about the pressures in Hollywood to be thin and look good…Sooo once Victoria Beckham spotted cellulite on her legs in some pictures of her she decided to get into shape…maybe cellulite can form on top of bones. Anyways, another motivation was when she heard that former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell had lost weight. Of course she has to look the best! So Posh joined The Sports Club in La, but she supposedly hates working out. So what is she going to be doing there…? She said that pilates seem “civilized”, but she hates sweating and getting into shape MIGHT require just a litle bit of sweating…Whatever. source: www.andhranews.net Filed under: Celebrity Life and Victoria Beckham Comments: None |
So Victoria Beckham has written a book called “that extra half an inch”. The book is due in stories this November and features Victoria’ own style tips. Now this could be a great thing to some and not so great for others. According to an Us Weekly poll, 65% of readers said that they would take fashion advice from the Ex Spice Girl. The other 35%? They obviously are not liking Victoria’s “you have to be less that 100lbs to wear this” style. Source: Us Weekly Filed under: Celebrity Life and Victoria Beckham Comments: None |
The LA Galaxy will have to play Pachucha, the mexican league champion, without Beckham for the Superliga final on Wednesday. Galaxy announced Monday that Beckham will miss his second straight soccer game with….guess what?…. a bad ankle. The Galaxy’s mismanagement of Beckham’s playing time could cost Galaxy $1 million because that is how much the winner of the Superliga final receives. You think Lalas and Yallop would have planned ahead since Beckham is there cash cow anyways. You think MLS is happy? UPDATE: In a news conference today Beckham said “I’m still uncomfortable, but hopefully I’ll be ready to play tomorrow.” Galaxy’s head coach Frank Yallop said “I expect both to play, David’s still got that ankle problem, but Landon feels a lot better. His calf and his thigh are OK now, so that’s good.” Hmmmm is this smart, $1 million or run at playoffs? Source: LA Times Filed under: Athletic Life and David Beckham Comments: None |
Supposedly two of Victoria Beckham’s nannies quit working because they said she spoke down to them, her mother was bossy, and they felt like “dogsbodies”. Both nannies ended up cooking and cleaning for the Beckham family as well as working extensive hours that were not worth the pay. So Victoria actually had to take care of her kids ALONE!…AMAZING….obviously this will bot last long. Source: The London News Filed under: Celebrity Life and Victoria Beckham Comments: None |
Mr. and Mrs. Becks are planning on having a fourth child next year in 2008. Victoria Beckham said in a recent interview that “We’d like to have another - maybe next year. He or she might be lucky enough to have dual nationality.” Victoria is probably waiting until after the Spice Girls reunion tour in January of 2008. Victoria desperately wants a daughter. She got a fertility tattoo on her leg which is supposed to promote the birth of a girl. The baby will likely be born in LA. Due to Beckham’s back to back performances, he will not play tomorrow against the Colorado Rapids. Towards the end of the Chivas game he was limping and tired, so this was an obvious move for Becks not to play. Galaxy head coach Frank Yallop said, “I used him tonight and I shouldn’t have done that. I don’t like to put any player, not just David, in jeopardy of getting injured. That wasn’t the intention. I feel bad for him. He’s going to be sore. I think his body is sore from what he’s done over the last 10 days.” Source: Steven Goff Filed under: Athletic Life and David Beckham Comments: None |
